She is a native of Surry County, Virginia and graduate of Old Dominion University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (K-4). She holds a Master’s of Educational Leadership and certification in Administration (K-12).
As the Lead Consultant of Keys to Lead, Makeeta is a catalyst for change among people and within organizations. Whether as a teacher, coach, mentor, or supervisor, she is skillful and strategic in her approach to decision-making and problem-solving. Makeeta is a visionary and “key” driver in initiating cognitive and behavioral transformation. Her techniques promote continuous improvement in both individuals and groups.
She has extensive training and experience with curriculum writing, cognitive coaching, facilitation, staff development, conflict resolution, and building healthy collaborations.
Makeeta’s unique way of connecting with people and sharing her gifts leaves a lasting impression. She has a genuine love for seeing people learn, grow, and maximize their greatest potential.
Makeeta is the proud wife of Jeremy Keys and mother of two beautiful children, Jaxon and Kennedy. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling with close friends.
